Independent since 2004, but never alone: every project was built with a team.
I am an electrical engineer, born in Venezuela, and for more than 25 years I have lived between refrigeration, air conditioning and energy.
Since 2004 I have been building my own companies. That road has taken me to more than 40 countries, from hospitals and hotels to food factories, industrial plants, oil & gas and the energy sector. I have designed systems, bought and sold equipment, commissioned plants and, above all, solved problems. Troubleshooting is still what I enjoy most: finding why something doesn’t work, and making it work better while using less energy.
Along the way the industry started calling me “The Ice Man”, for my years of work in low-temperature engineering and ice plants. I kept the name.
Today I am General Manager of ApexThermo Angola, bringing end-to-end cold chain and power solutions to Angola and, step by step, to other African countries.
I still believe knowledge is worth more when it is shared. That’s why I write On Thin Ice: Insights from the Ice Man.
Sectors I have worked in: air conditioning and heating, food & beverage, meat and dairy processing, ice production, steel, industrial plants, hospitality, healthcare, and oil & gas.
